The role of the Children’s Officer is to act as an advocate for the child . The Children’s Officer does not sit on the committee so they can remain objective if there is anything that concerns the child or parent at any of our activities. The Children’s Officer has no role in counselling and does not have any influence in securing places in activities . The Children’s Officer can bring any concerns to a member of the committee who will discuss and advise on any actions that are required . The Designated Liaison Person is Helen Norris the Chairperson who is responsible for ensuring that the reporting procedure is followed in the event of a suspected case of child neglect or abuse to TUSLA .
