SATURDAY APRIL 27TH: Transfer from Dublin Glenmalure from where we hike the 24km to Glendalough via the Spinc walk with breathtaking view of both valleys. As we will start at the Glenmalure Lodge we will be starting in Ireland’s longest glaciated valley. As we climb out of the valley we will soon get to see all of the Wicklow national parks’ highest peaks. As we descend into the Glendalough valley we will have views of the lough and cliffs as well as the monastic village dating back to the 6th century.

Here we have the option to overnight (it’s fun).

The highest point of the Wicklow Way we shall cross just under the shadow of Djouce mountain with view all the way to the mountains of Wales on a clear day.

As we will be in some of the most remote parts of the Wicklow way today will offer a real sense of wilderness. Shortly before we finish the hike we will get good views of Ireland’s highest waterfall in Powerscourt.
